A Ste. Julienne man has been charged with hit and run causing the death of Catherine Lapointe.

Patrice Tanguay was arrested at his home last Friday, 15 km away from the scene of a deadly collision in Terrebonne.

In court on Monday, Tanguay was charged and released on a promise to appear in court again on Jan. 4, 2017.

He is accused of running down Lapointe at 12:30 a.m., then fleeing the scene.

Witnesses saw the collision, and saw the car allegedy driven by Tanguay run into a pole that knocked off the car's bumper and license plate.
