RUMESBAK kahapon si Sen. Leila de Lima sa mga umano’y guwagawa ng kwento laban sa kanya matapos namang patalsikin bilang Senate committee chair.
“May araw din po kayo,” sabi ni de Lima sa kanyang privilege speech.
Partikular na pinangalanan ni de Lima si Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano na aniya’y nagtagumpay para siya masibak.
“Congratulations to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for his triumphant victory yesterday, and for making me realize that a committee chairmanship is not the end of everything for me as a senator,” sabi ni de Lima.
Sa botong 16-4, tinanggal si de Lima bilang chair ng Senate committee on justice and human rights.
“No committee chairmanship is worth it, if it means sacrificing my principles and surrendering the causes that I pledged my life to fight for,” dagdag pa ni de Lima.
Tinawag pa ni de Lima si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na lasing sa kapangyarihan.
“As the Bible says, what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and yet to lose his soul? I choose to keep my soul,” ayon pa kay de Lima.
