Chamarajanagar: Reacting to reports in a section of media, chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday rejected allegations that his son Dr Yathindra conducted meetings with officials. "He only facilitated the public in getting their applications across to the officials," he claimed.
Siddaramaiah, who was in Chamarajanagar to inaugurate the government medical college block and development projects, told reporters that his son is not an elected representative to hold meetings with officials.
"Reports on this are far from truth. I had asked Ramaiah, my joint secretary, to look after my constituency. Only he is meeting the officers to discuss about developments," Siddaramaiah claimed.
According to sources, Dr Yathidra, after demise of his brother Rakesh, who was assisting his father Siddaramaiah, has donned the role of his brother. He was seen with officials discussing problems of people in the Mysuru region recently.
Speaking on the medical college, PWD engineer V Mahadevaswamy said the building has been built at a cost of Rs 150 crore. Apart from the college building, there are boys and girls hostels and quarters for doctors and non-teaching staff. There are four lecture halls, each with 150 capacity, a big lecture hall with 350 capacity, an auditorium with green room and an air conditioned library.
The college will also have a blood bank, a museum and rooms for different departments.
George's induction likely?
The government will wait for the court's order before taking back former minister K J George into the ministry, Siddaramaiah said. George is facing a charge over the death of DSP M K Ganapathi. The CM was replying to a query whether George will be taken back as CID has given him a clean chit in the case. "We have said that George was innocent and that he has no role in it. CID has completed its investigation and submitted the reports. We will wait what the court says," Siddaramaiah told reporters.
