GREATER NOIDA: In a suspected case of dowry death, a 25-year-old woman died of severe burn injuries at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on Sunday evening.
The victim, Nargis, daughter of Jafaruddin of Aligarh was found with severe burn injuries, alone at her house in Dankaur on Saturday by her neighbours.
The police has lodged a case under the Dowry Act against four people belonging to the woman’s family her husband Rajuddin, her sister-in-law Razia, brother-in-law Mahmud and another relative Tahir.
All the accused are on the run. According to police, Jafaruddin, was informed about the incident by the woman’s neighbours after which she was admitted to the Safdarjung hospital of Delhi.
The woman, who married Rajuddin six years ago, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.
Anil Pratap Singh, SHO, Dankaur police station, said that a case under dowry act and relevant sections of IPC has been registered against Rajuddin and the others. All the accused are on the run, he added.
