Govt gives Aravind Jadhav a clean chit in land deal
BENGALURU: The state government has given a clean chit to chief secretary Aravind Jadhav who had been accused of misusing his powers to facilitate the transfer of government land to his mother's name.
Based on an inquiry report submitted by Bengaluru Urban deputy commissioner V Shankar, revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa told reporters on Mon day that no lapses or malpractices have been detect ed in the land transaction made in the name of Jadhav's mother Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav.

The chief secre tary, who will retire on September 30, had come under the scanner recently after a section of the media claimed that his mother had sold her land in Devanahalli and purchased a grant land on Sarjapur Road in Anekal taluk to develop layout. He was accused of forcing junior officials in the Benga luru district administration to change revenue records pertaining to the plot.
“No irregularities have been found in the report and there has been no purchase of any prohibited land.However, I have told the officials to examine the original documents once again,“ Thimmappa said.
Committee fixes price for govt land
The cabinet sub-committee that had been set up to fix the value of 77 acres of government land that had to be regularized in the name of Eagleton Golf Resort on the outskirts of the city, has fixed it at Rs 998 crore.
Eagleton, which had commenced operations in 2000 on 500 acres (including 105 acres of government land), had knocked the doors of the Supreme Court seeking regularization of the government land. The court has told the government to fix a price for the land. “The issue will be placed for discussion at the next cabinet meeting,“ Thimmappa said.
