Mehrajpur village of the district, started out on a measely salary of Rs 500 per month went on to amass assets way beyond his means in 10 years of service, sources said. The raid brought to an end crorepati panchayat secretary's money-making run, who received all-told salary of Rs 5.5 lakh in his decade-long service. Besides,
Singh owns five vehicles -- two motorcycles, two Tata 407 vehicles, and one tractor, sources said. The panchayat secretary and his wife have 9 bank accounts. Singh, who began working as panchayat secretary in 2005, received only Rs 500 as salary till 2008. From 2009 to 2014, he received Rs 5,000 as the salary.
