Akhileshwadis write their resignation letters in blood
LUCKNOW: Over 50 office-bearers of Samajwadi Party's four allied organisations resigned to protest against the expulsion of seven members of Team Akhilesh on Monday , nearly one-fifth of them writing their resignation letters in blood.
Hundreds of the chief minister's supporters gathered at the SP headquarters in Lucknow on Monday , describing themselves as `Akhileshwadi' -translating literally to `Akhilesh believers', the term is an improvisation on the word `samajwadi' (socialist), which the SP old guard uses frequently to describe themselves.

“It was not a mere resignation but a to ken of my commitment towards our leader Akhilesh Yadav,“ said Sapna Agrahri, state secretary of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha as she made a cut on her hand and rubbed a finger in blood to write her resignation.
The frenzy among the youngsters shortly after the expulsion by the new state party chief Shivpal Yadav, caught in a power struggle with his chief minister nephew, rose a notch when two members climbed utility poles outside the VVIP guest house nearby , and chanted slogans like, “Yeh jawani hai qurbaan, Akhilesh bhaiya tere naam (We sacrifice our youth for brother Akhilesh)“. Police had a tough time pacifying the two youths.
“Akhilesh bhaiya is our leader and we will work to ensure that he becomes the will work to ensure that he becomes the chief minister of the state for the second time after the next assembly elections,“ said Abhishek, a member of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha's executive committee.
“I am Akhileshwadi and will work hard to make him the chief minister again,“ said Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha state chief Brajesh Yadav, one of the seven office-bearers sacked on Monday .
MLC Anand Bhadauria, who has been expelled as well, claimed he had never said anything against SP chief Mulayam Singh, and said his loyalty to the party was unquestionable. “I have worked hard for the party and see chief minister Akhilesh Yadav as my leader... He represents the youth and will continue to do so,“ he added.
