BJP, Cong, others condemn terror attack; pay tributes to Uri martyrs

JAMMU, Sept 19: BJP, ABVP, Congress, NSUI, NPP besides several other organizations condemned Uri terror  attack  and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers in various programmes held today.
Jammu East unit of the BJP led by MLA Rajesh Gupta at held a programme at Purani Mandi Chowk here today.   BJP State president and MLA Sat Sharma, State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul and other leaders paid tributes to Uri martyrs along with a large number of people from different walks of life. They lit candles before the portrait of ‘Bharat Maa’ and observed silence for the peace of the departed souls of the brave sons of motherland.
Mr Sharma, on this occasion, said that the Fidayeen attack in Uri at the behest of Pakistan is the worst kind of inhuman act and is highly condemnable. He said that the terrorist attack at Army brigade, which resulted into sacrifices of our brave soldiers, has shook the entire nation and the time has come when Union Government should adopt a clear and decisive strategy to teach Pakistan a lesson.
Prof Sham Gupta, Daleep Gupta, Karan Singh, Ayodhya Kumar, Shiv Kumar Gupta,  Rajeev Bhardwaj, Girdhari Lal, Rajinder Gupta, Ravi Singh, Gokul Kohli,  Govind Sareen, Vijay Mehra, Suresh Bharti, Shashi Sapolia and Chandan Gupta also paid their tributes.
BJP Bhaderwah Mandal in a meeting held under the chairmanship of  District president  Manjit Razdan strongly condemned  Uri terrorist attack and paied rich tributes to the martyrs. They also conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
ABVP Jammu University unit organised a large Tiranga rally from the University Campus upto Bikram Chowk in order to protest the killings of Army personnel in URI sector of Kashmir province. The huge rally was supported by more than 500 students and scholars of Jammu University in order to protest the killings of Army personal.
Lokinder Singh, ABVP President, Jammu University demanded from the central and State Govt to act not to react and give strong reply to the anti nationals. He added that time has come now to take harsh step against terrorist so that such sponsored terrorist will not dare to repeat such heinous and coward act.
Abhinav Pandotra, ABVP State joint secretary, Kannav Sharma secretary ABVP JU said that time has come to give strong reply by dismantling the terrorist outfits and camps where ever they exist so that terrorist activities will be minimised and peace may prevail in Valley.
District Congress Committee (DCC)  Kathua led by former MLC Subash Gupta  strongly condemned Uri militant attack and expressed grief over the killing of soldiers. The district Congress activists also  staged massive protest at Mukherjee Chowk under the leadership of Subash Gupta. The anguished activists were raising slogans against Pakistan and also set ablaze Pakistani flag and effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief.
Holding Pakistan responsible for the suicidal attack, Subash Gupta while paying tributes to martyrs said, “Terrorists are targeting innocent civilians and soldiers. This attack is on peace, democracy and communal harmony of the State. He further said that Government should deal with these types of incidents with stern and the forces responsible for the same given a befitting reply.
Former president MC Kathua Naresh Kumar, senior leaders Rattan Chand Karotra, Nirdosh Sharma,  Kulbir Singh Pathania, Aradhana Andotra, Sardar Khan, Vinay Sharma and Rajeev Gupta also joined.
PCC general secretary Vikram Malhotra has also condemned the Uri terror attack. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families of the martyred soldiers and urged upon the Modi Govt to take appropriate action in this regard.
Several activists of National Panthers Party held a candle march at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi (Hyde Park Corner of India) condemning brutal killing of 18 soldiers by the Pak-sponsored terrorists. The NPP also conveyed condolences to the Chief of the Indian Army and the families of the martyred soldiers who died in the defense of their country, India.
Prof Bhim Singh, chief patron of NPP urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take appropriate steps to save the people of J&K and their defenders, the security forces, to ensure that all security measures within the jurisdiction of J&K are taken care by the Govt of the State.
Dubbing Pakistan as a threat to the peace in South Asian region, NPP activists led by Harshdev Singh its chairman, staged a demonstration spearheaded against Pak sponsored militant attack on the Army Brigade Headquarters at Uri in Kashmir in which 18 soldiers were martyred and several others injured.
Accusing Pakistan for pushing Fidayeens to carry out terror attacks on the security personnel in J&K besides endorsing support to the secessionists in Kashmir, the ardent protestors raised anti-Pak slogans and burnt the effigy of the rogue nation at Exhibition Ground in Jammu today.
Nationalist Youth Congress in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Rishi Koul condemned the terror attack at Uri Army camp and paid rich tributes to martyrs.
Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackery) led by Dimpy Kohli ( president)  and chairman Rakesh Gupta held protest at Bari Brahmana  today and burnt effigy of Pak Prime Minister and its national flag.  They demanded direct action against Pakistan.
J&K Ex-Services League, Ambphalla, Jammu, paid homage the 18 Martyrs of the 10 Dogra and 6 Bihar, who lost their lives in the terrorist attack at Uri. Two of them belong to Jammu region, Sub Karnail Singh of Bishnah, in district Jammu and Hav Ravi Paul of village Sarwa, district Samba. The Ex-Servicemen were very disturbed and touched on such a heavy loss of young soldiers and hoped that this is the last time of such a tragic loss of soldiers so that Pakistan thinks twice before inflicting such coward Fidayeen attacks.
The veterans hoped that the Govt of India will now avenge this great loss so that such incidents are never repeated again without a very heavy price by the perpetrators of such attacks. The condolence meeting was presided over by the president of the League, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Col Rajinder Singh (gen secy) and Col D S Salaria (Hony treasurer). The staff members also attended the meeting.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu (CCIJ) in an emergency meeting held at Chamber House today under the leadership of SL Langar, senior vice president, condemned the outrageous and cowardice attack by terrorists on Army’s Brigade Headquarters on Sunday in which 17 Army men were martyred and 30 were injured. The meeting termed this attack on the unity and Integrity of the nation and said that in this hour of challenge, entire    nation is behind the security forces to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy.
While paying rich tributes to the bereaved families of  soldiers, the CCI members  nation expressed heartfelt condolences and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
Janat Dal Secular leaders Mast Nath Yog, Kulbir Singh and Ranjay Bargotra also condemned the Uri terror attack.
The activists of National Secular Forum University Unit (NSF) today held strong demonstration against the shameful act of militants in which they attacked on the Brigade Headquarters in Uri sector yesterday. They also burnt the effigies of Nawaz Sharief and Pak Govt. NSF University unit president Rishikesh Rana also addressed the gathering.
ABVP Girls wing from Jammu University Hostel took out candle march in the evening here today and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers of Uri attack.
National Conference Students Union led by Sahil Singh Jamwal held protest demonstration  in this connection at Jammu University.
Jammu Wine Traders Association led by Charanjit Singh has also condemned the terrorists attack on the Army camp at Uri in which 18 soldiers attained martyrdom.
Kranti Dal today held a strong protest against Pakistan and burns effigy of Pakistan at Hari Market, Jammu. Protest was led by party president  Pritam Sharma, along with other senior party members.
Jammu West Assembly Movement activists led by Sunil Dimple also held protest at New Plot against Pakistan and urged upon the Government to hand over the State to Army. He demanded direct action against Pak in view of Uri terror attack.
Jammu Kashmir Lok Seva Sansthan (JKLSS) activists of women wing in a meeting held here at Sarwal under the leadership of Rama Kumari, state secretary, condemned the  terrorists attack at Uri Army camp and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers. The women activists also observed two minute silence to pay respect to the departed souls. Senior members R K Samyal, Usha  devi, Kanta devi, Urvasi Sood, Ponam Gaind, Sunita Kumari, Suman Devi,  Geeta Devi and Sheetal Kumari were also present.
Shiv Shakti Sena led by Rakesh Gupta held protest at Janipur and demanded directed action against Pakistan for Uri terror attack.
NGO  Jiyo Aur Jeene Do has condemned the terrorist attack on Army Campc at Uri in Kashmir.  Members of the NGO have paid tribute to the Martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of nation. The members gathered at Shahidi Chowk near Town Hall Udhampur by holding candles in their hands to mark respect for the martyrdom.
While paying tribute to the martyrs the president of NGO Tariq Shah said that the brutal act of militants under the influence of Pakistan is highly condemned able.
A candle light march was also organised by Kanak Mandi Traders Association this evening. The traders led by Vijay Gupta, president paid heartfelt  tributes to the martyrs.  They also burnt the effigy of  Nawaz Sharief,  Pak premier.
Citizens from Gandhinagar area of Jammu organised a candle march in the evening and paid tributes to the 18 soldiers who attained martyrdom during terrorists attack at Uri on Sunday. Senior BJP leader Indu Bhushan was leading.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, BJP District president  Jammu  organised ‘Shardanjali Samaroh’ at Kachi Chawani today where activists of the party paid rich tributes to the martyrs of  Uri terror attack.
Staff Members of Govt Hospital, Gandhinagar Jammu held a condolence meeting in the hospital in the morning and paid tributes to the soldiers who attained martyrdom in Uri terror attack. A two minute silence was also observed to pay respect to the departed souls.
Meawhile, Sainik Cooperative House Building Society Jammu, Youth Wing of Dogra Sadar Sabha Jammu, Mendhar Press Council and SPMR College students also paid rich tributes to the martyred soldiers of  Uri terror attack.
