Mohali: Model sexually abused at night club, case filed

THE ZIRAKPUR police booked two unknown persons who allegedly sexually harassed a model in a night club. The accused managed to flee and the police are yet to trace their whereabouts. The officials said that the accused were drunk at the time of the incident.

According to Paramjeet Singh, the investigation officer (IO) of the case, the complainant, who is a model, came to Hipnotic Lounge Bar along with her friend. The bar is located on Zirakpur-Panchkula road. She alleged that two men who were drunk passed lewd comments on them. When she objected, they tried to assault her. The complainant told the police that the accused sexually abused her.

The IO said that the accused fled after the complainant raised the alarm. Now the CCTV footage of the night club will be scrutnised to identify the accused, said the IO. A case under Section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Dhakoli police post which falls under Zirakpur police station.
