A newly-wed bride from Tika Nagala village of Sundgadi area allegedly offered tea laced with intoxicants to her husband and his family members on Sunday and fled with the valuables in the house.

AGRA: A newly-wed bride from Tika Nagala village of Sundgadi area allegedly offered tea laced with intoxicants to her husband and his family members on Sunday and fled with the valuables in the house.
According to sources, the accused, Sunita of Tika Nagala village of Sundgadi area, married Raespal on September 15 in a private ceremony at a local temple. Sunita was introduced to Raespal by two local matchmakers identified as Pramod and Munnalal.
Raespal even gave Rs50,000 to the duo after marriage.
On Sunday night, an unidentified man came to visit Sunita and her husband. However, Raespal and four of his relatives were later found unconscious at their home. Also, Sunita and her unidentified friend were found missing from the house.
According to station officer Nazmul Shakeeb of Patiyali, “The woman had offered tea laced with intoxicants when the friend came. After drinking it, the entire family became unconscious. We suspect that Sunita’s friend brought the intoxicant with him.”
“The incident came to light when villagers found Raespal and his relatives lying unconscious. All the five victims were sent to the community health centre where their condition is said to be stable,” he added.
According to police, more information would be available only when the family members regain consciousness.
