MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The competitions include the World Luge Championships in Sochi in 2020 and Biathlon World Championships in 2021 in Tyumen.

"All international federations confirm [that the competitions will take place in Russia]…We got the right to host the Biathlon World Championships in 2021 in Tyumen, [in September] the International Luge Federation (FIL) confirmed it would conduct the World Championship in Sochi in 2020. We do not have any problems with contest suspension so far," Mutko said.

In July, the Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) prohibited all Russian athletes from taking part in international competitions, including the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, over doping allegations, except long jump athlete Darya Klishina. The same month, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) urged the international winter federations to halt all preparations for major competitions on the territory of Russia.
