TV3 has revealed some of its Gogglebox Ireland families in advance of the show's debut later this week.

The narrator is comedian Deirdre O’Kane, with Mrs Brown's Boys star Rory Cowan doing the honours from episode five.  Much like its original UK counterpart, Gogglebox Ireland is set to feature the country's most opinionated and avid TV viewers who will comment on the best and worst television shows of the week, all from the comfort of their own homes.

TV3 has unveiled three Gogglebox households, the first of which are best pals Jamie, Lindsay, Ashley and Grainne from Cabra in Dublin. All four are Reality TV addicts and their ideal Friday night involves the sofa, the box in the corner and well, some white wine.  Sisters Lindsay and Ashley spent childhood holidays with Jamie as their mothers were best friends. After Grainne joined the gang, they were inseparable.

The second household is Szymon and Aga, originally from Poland but now living in Tallaght. The pair have been best friends since they met in college 16 years ago. Aga moved to Ireland from Poland in 2004, while Simon arrived in 2007 to celebrate Halloween. He fell in love with the country and never left.

The Gruffertys hail from County Kildare. Mother Laura and father Des met 14 years ago when Des walked into Laura’s hairdressers for a haircut and came out with her phone number. The couple have four children and live in Athy. Laura owns a hair and beauty salon in the town, while Des takes care of the kids and their two Jack Russell dogs. Laura and Des are joined on the couch by their 12-year-old daughter, Danielle.
