Metro III project to get MLA Hostel land

MUMBAI: The state public works department will permanently hand over 147 sq metres, which is part of the MLA hostels (Manora) at Nariman Point for the Metro – III project.

It will also hand over another 562 sq metres underground area for the project. The areas to be handed over are spread over three plots on which the hostel buildings stand.

The speaker of the legislative assembly and the chairman of the Upper House have already given their consent for the transfer.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited that is executing the project will need to obtain a No Objection Certificate from the urban development department, the home department and the state environment department.
