4 killed in lightning strike in Mahoba

Mahoba, Sep 19 (UNI) Four people were killed in separate incidents while 12 others sustained burn injuries due to lightning in Mahoba districts of Uttar Pradesh today.
Assistant District Magistrate (ADM) Surendra here said Vineeta (13), Ram Khilawan (55) and Rajbahdur (16) died while 12 others got burn injuries due to lightning strike. The injured were taken to hospitals.
In another incident, Rajcharan (59) of Beeranga village, who was going to work in his field, got severely burnt due to lightning. He succumbed to injuries in hospital.

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) Notwithstanding stray incidents of violence, an estimated 50.96 percent of the 5.6 million electorate on Friday voted in the first six hours across the three Lok Sabha constituencies of northern West Bengal -- Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri.

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) An estimated 50.96 percent of the 5.6 million electorates exercised their franchise till 1 PM in the three Lok Sabha constituencies of West Bengal with Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri recording 50.69 percent, 51.50 percent and 50.65 percent respectively.
