Malwani tailor commits suicide due to visa rejection
Mumbai: A 35-year-old tailor committed suicide at his Malwani residence allegedly depressed after his visa got rejected, crushing his dream of going abroad. Jehangir Alam Nadaf, the deceased, was a tailor by profession. He resided at New Collector Compound in Malwani. Between Wednesday night and early on Thursday, Nadaf hanged himself from the ceiling fan. The Malwani police have recorded a case of accidental death.

According to the police, Nadaf wanted to travel abroad for work. He had borrowed some money from his in-laws in the past and contacted an agent to get his visa done. He paid the agent but his visa was rejected as he couldn't clear the medical examination. The money was returned to him.


Nadaf shared the house with other tailors who were away at the time of the incident. His wife and kids live in his hometown at Bihar. He was found hanging by a relative who rushed him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. After an autopsy, the body will be handed to his relatives for conducting last rites.
