Ajit Wadekar, who led India to landmark overseas triumphs over West Indies and England in 1971, has not been invited to be part of the celebrations for India's 500th Test.

Wadekar confirmed to mid-day late last evening that he has not received an invitation to be in Kanpur although he had no complaints whatsoever about the decision to leave him out.

Wadekar's twin triumphs in 1971 was followed by the series win over England at home in 1972-73.
