The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in the region for the next two days due to upper air cyclonic circulation over south west Gujarat and adjoining north Maharashtra.
Jayanta Sarkar, director of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat told TOI: "The upper air cyclonic circulation over south-west Gujarat and adjoining north Maharashtra has caused the sudden change in the weather. The conditions are likely to remain favourable for more rains till Tuesday." Heavy to very heavy rainfall can occur at isolated places in Gujarat and Saurashtra regions. "This is the last spell of rainfall which will help Saurashtra specifically to tide over the deficiency," he said.
