MANGALURU : Engineers should be committed to complete projects in a time-bound manner, said H Kumar, managing director, MRPL here on Saturday.
He was speaking after the inauguration of 'Techno Week 2016' as part of Engineers' Day celebrations organized by Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) and The Ramco Cements Ltd.
Kumar said engineers should be dreamers and should strive to realize their dreams.
"Success comes with time management. With digital revolution, engineers get all the information with a click of a mouse and this should enable them to imbue quality and manage projects," he added. He also advised senior engineers to share their experiences with the younger generation for further improvement in construction and quality management.
Vishnu Vijay Mayya, advisor, Techno Week said the association will organize 32 programmes in various engineering colleges as part of Techno Week this year.
He said the resource persons will generate new ideas to disseminate them to students during the programmes in colleges. Subash C Yargal and M Purushotham Kottary were honoured with Eminent Engineers Award and Eknath Dandakeri was honoured with Anantha Mithra Kalbavi Award.
T Vinayak Pai, chairman, Mohammed Iqbal, secretary, Premanand A, treasurer of the association, Suraj Kumar A, advisor, Anil Sebastian D'Souza and Arun Raj, conveners of Techno Week and Jayakumar, VP (marketing), Ramco Cements were present.
