ALWAR: Exposing claims of authorities on security in jail premises, a 32-year-old jail inmate has not only used a smartphone inside the Bharatpur jail but has also uploaded his pictures on Facebook. His post was shared by a few and has also received some comments. However, after the matter came to light, the jail authorities seized the mobile phone from the prisoner and got all his posts deleted.

Tinchu Choudhary, an inmate lodged at the Bharatpur Central Jail, on Friday, updated his Facebook page and uploaded at least a dozen pictures from the jail premises. His post got 132 likes, 25 comments and 4 of his friends had shared his post. "All these pictures were clicked on Thursday but were posted on Friday," said an officer with the Bharatpur jail on Sunday. In some of the pictures, the inmate is seen talking over the phone and in some he was seen posing with fellow inmates. "He was arrested for a murder that took place in Halena in Bharatpur. He was shifted to Bharatpur a month ago. We have seized the mobile phone from his possession and lodged a case against him at Sewar police station."
It is not the first instance when jail inmates have been using cellphones. Two years ago, some of the prisoners in Jodhpur jail had uploaded their pictures on Facebook from jail premises. Many-a-times jail authorities across the state have organized mass raids inside the barracks of different jails and seized mobile phones.
"The problem is that in most jails a large chunk of guards are home guards who are negligent. It is always seen that whenever such things take place in jails there is connivance with home guards," said a senior officer of jail.
