Uri terrorists’ attack widely condemned

JAMMU, Sept 18: Various political, social, trade, youth and other organizations strongly condemned the terrorists’ attack on an Army camp at Uri in Kashmir in which 17 soldiers were martyred while fighting the heavily armed Pak sponsored terrorists today. Four terrorists were also gunned down by troops.
Former J&K Chief Minister and working president of National Conference, Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the attack on Army Garrison at Uri and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred jawans and extended his heartfelt condolences to them.
“This is highly condemnable and tragic incident. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred jawans who have lost their lives and pray for the speedy recovery of those who have sustained injuries in the attack,” Omar said in a statement today.
Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh has expressed grief and sorrow over the killings of soldiers in a deadly militant attack on Army base at Uri during early morning today. Condemning the attack, the DyCM said that the elements responsible for attack would be dealt with iron hands.
Expressing heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families, Dr Singh prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
While expressing condolences and sympathies with the martyrs of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives while fighting the terrorists in Uri, State BJP has termed the attack on Army Brigade as an act of cowardice by Pakistan and reflection of frustration.
In an emergency meeting of BJP senior leaders at Katra on the sidelines of the ongoing training workshop, State president and MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma discussed the situation and condemned the barbaric act triggered at the behest of Pakistan. They said that the party and the entire nation stand with the bereaved families, whose sons got martyrdom for the motherland and added that the nation will always remember them.
The meeting observed that during the last over three months, the Pakistan has been exposed at the international level for its act of pushing trained terrorists into Indian territory. The BJP leaders were of the view that the time has come when the Union Government should adopt a decisive strategy to give Pakistan a befitting reply for what it has been doing in Kashmir under proxy war.
The meeting was attended by Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Health Minister, Bali Bhagat, State general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, State general secretaries Dr Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and Harinder Gupta.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack at a military installation at Uri in Kashmir today.
Expressing deep shock and pain over the martyrdom of Army personnel, PCC has termed it an attack on the unity and integrity of over nation and said that entire nation is behind the forces in this hour of challenge, to defeat the designs of the enemy.
On behalf of the rank and file of the party, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that this dastardly attack deserved condemnation in the strongest possible words and the perpetrators and sponsors of these acts should be taught the lesson in the terms they understand.
PCC has expressed heartfelt sympathies with the family members of the martyred soldiers and prayed for peace to the departed souls and early recovery of the injured.
NPP chief patron Prof Bhim Singh also strongly condemned the brutal attack on the soldiers in Kashmir. In a resolution at Vaishali during public meeting, Bhim Singh stressed for end of the communal rule and demanded that Article 370 should be amended without any delay so that Jammu and Kashmir shall be integrated with the rest of the country.
Former DyCM and senior Congress leader Tara Chand, PCC general secretary Manjit Singh, former ministers Abdul Majid Wani and Yogesh Sawhney have also condemned the terrorists attack at Uri.
Panthers Party activists under the leadership Balwant Singh Mankotia, party president held the massive protest at Udhampur against Pakistan for attacking Indian Army camp at Uri Kashmir in which 17 soldiers martyred and 19 were seriously injured, they blocked National Highway (Dhar Road) at Slathia Chowk and torched the effigy of Pakistan for sponsoring militancy in Indian territory and waging war against India.
While addressing the gathering Mankotia urged the Indian Govt to take direct action against Pakistan for interfering repeatedly in India territory and targeting Army camps as well as civilian for the last more than thirty years.
In a hurriedly called meeting by former minister Thakur Randhir Singh, NCP State chief, in which senior leaders of the party were present, condemned killing of seventeen Army personnel at Uri during Fidayeen attack supported by the Pakistan Army. Mr Singh while briefing the mediamen said the Indian Army faces one of its biggest attacks on its units in recent times, the Uri terror attack has shocked many across the country.
Mr Singh expressed over the incident and saluted the jawans who attained martyrdom. He said Govt must mobilize all resources, manpower and material to strengthen border defence to prevent infiltration of terrorists.
Taking serious note of the early Sunday morning Pakistan sponsored attack on the Brigade Headquarters in URI Sector, Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha expressed grief at the loss of lives of our gallant soldiers and his firm solidarity with our troops guarding the borders of the country on the LoC and International Border. Linking it up with the troubled conditions of Kashmir created by Pakistan’s agents on her behest, he said our troops are faced with threat from the front as also from the anti-national elements within.
Dogra Sadar Sabha called for strict vigilance and added deployments to ensure that the area of disruption remains within the disturbed few districts and is resolved there itself at the earliest. He said under no circumstances trouble should be allowed to escalate and engulf larger areas to disturb the lives of the majority of peace loving nationalist population.
Bar Association Jammu has also strongly condemned the terrorists attack at Uri in which 17 soldiers attained martyrdom. President of the Association, Abhinav Sharma said that work in the High Court and Lower Courts shall remain suspended tomorrow in view of the strike by the lawyers. He said that lawyers will hold protest against Pakistan on Monday.
Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (Secular) J&K unit condemns attack on forces in Uri, Baramulla.
Sajad Reshi, incharge J&K, Sanjay Dhar vice president of the Party and Rohit Koul spokesperson along with other members of the Party have strongly condemned the attack at Uri in North Kashmir on Sunday.
They said that the enemies of humanity who cannot see the nation succeed is attempting to cause harm to the Indian Army.
National Democratic Party (NDP) in an emergency meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Ravi Bakshi (president), strongly condemned the Uri terrorists attack on Army camp and stressed upon the Govt of India to take appropriate action against Pakistan, who has now intensified its proxy war against India. The speakers stressed for strengthening of security of vital installations in Kashmir and elsewhere and review strategy to counter terror attacks. They also demanded high level probe into `possible security lapse’ at the Brigade Headquarters, located at sensitive border town of Uri in North Kashmir.
State Director for J&K of the War Decorated India, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, expressed his anguish while offering condolences on the early morning attack on HQ 12 Brigade in Uri Sector on Sunday. He did not rule out complacency and a failure of security and ground vigilance. At the same time he called for strict punitive action for any such mis-adventure, since that is the only language that the adversary understands.
He said, in the normal course of things those responsible for failure in performance will as such get dealt with under the strict provisions of the Indian Army Act. There was therefore, no need for any civil or political lay man advisories on it. It is painful that even at a tragedy like this the gossip mongers are active and making all kinds of unqualified comments and remarks.
“The time has come for the nation to stand firmly behind our soldiers and encourage them, boost their morale and take care of their families and the war widows,” Col Sahi said.
A joint meeting of presidents of all Biradaries was held at Jammu today under the aegis of Ved Parkash Sharma, president of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha to discuss the situation arising out of repeated Pak sponsored terrorist attacks.
The meeting was attended by Vinod Kumar Gupta, president Central Mahajan Sabha, Narayan Singh, president Amar Kashitrya Rajput Sabha, Ch Man Mohan Singh, president Jat Sabha, Murari Lal Dogra, president Kashyap Rajput Sabha and other prominent personalities.
The terrorist attack on Army at Uri was strongly condemned in the meeting. The role of the Army and Para-Military forces including Police in Kashmir was appreciated. It was unanimously resolved that the Govt of India should tackle the situation with Iron hands and full resolute so that anti-nationals and anti-social elements are crushed for-ever.
Akhil Bhartitya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar unit held strong protest at Central University of Jammu today against Pakistan for the cowardly attack on an Army camp by Pak sponsored militants. The activists of ABVP burnt the effigy of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief and raised anti-Pak slogans. Rajinder Kumar, president of the CU Unit of the ABVP was leading.
Activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad and students of Jammu University took out a candle light march as mark of respect and condolence to the martyred soldiers in Uri terror attack.
A number of students, mostly ABVP activists and JU hostel boarders took part in the march, which was taken from JU campus to Bikram Chowk.
J&K Citizen Advisory Forum has also condemned terrorists attack at Uri today. In a joint statement issued here by Justice (Retd) K K Gupta, Arvind Mahajan KC, Vijay Saraf, Amar Singh, I C Jandial, C P Gupta, Kiran Wattal, Jugal Mahajan, R L Gupta and others made a scathing attack on Pakistan for raging proxy war against India.
Jammu Province People’s Forum members including Pavitar Singh, Narayan Singh M S Katoch, Inderjit Kahjuria, Gajan Singh, Avinash Bhatia, M L Sharma, R S Jamwal and others also condemned attack at Army camp in Uri.
In Samba people took out candle march to mark their protest against Pakistan for supporting terrorists attack at Army camp in Uri. The marchers passed their main market and finally dispersed near Bus Stand.
VHP senior leader and its patron, Dr Rama Kant Dubey while strongly condemning the attack on army at Uri said that it is high time to act tough against Pakistan and reply the enemy country in the same language which it understands.
In a statement, he said since 1947 Pakistan never respected any agreement or accord made with India. He said Pak is involved in Kashmir turmoil for last 30 years by sending armed desperados to disintegrate this nation and now it is high time to teach it a lesson.
ASKPC president advocate Ravinder Raina has also strongly condemned the act and demanded tough action against the terrorists and separatists.
AMCCC president Desh Rattan and Prabandhak Committee Asthan Bawa Bhair Devta, Kattal Batal, Nagrota has also strongly condemned the attack. Sabha general secretary Ramesh Kumar demanded that the terrorists be crushed.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president Kundan Kashmiri has also strongly condemned the attack on army and termed it a great security lapse. He urged the Centre to act tough against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena state unit led by Dimpy Kohli, Shiv Sena (AG), Dogra Front National Mazdoor Conference led by Subash Shastri, J&K Batwal Welfare Association led by RL Kaith, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu led by K K Khosa, All India Anti-Terrorists Front J&K led by Bharat Bandhari also condemned Uri terrorists attack.
PDP leaders Ved Mahajan Ex-MLC) and Sudarshan Choudhary also condemned militants’ attack at Uri and urged upon the Government of India to take precision action against Pakistan and the time of maintaining restrained has been running down. Ravi Mahajan, Member J&K Tourism Advisory Board has also condemned the attack.
Adrash Vihar Welfare Society Jammu led by Balwant Singh and Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu also strongly condemned the terrorists attack on the Army camp at Uri and demanded that Indian Govt should take serious notice of the act of terrorists on behest of Pakistan.
