Man charged over stabbing at Southport unit complex

A man has been charged with allegedly stabbing a man in the doorway of a Gold Coast unit on the weekend.

A 47-year-old man was stabbed several times in the torso and arm after answering the door at a unit on Worendo Street, in Southport about 5.30pm Saturday.

The victim was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

A 24-year-old man from Booval has been charged with one count each of attempted murder and enter dwelling with intent.

He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court Monday.
