Bhiwandi: Chief minister
Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday took a swipe at Shiv Sena a day after its workers unofficially laid foundation stones for two important bridges on Ulhas creek.
Fadnavis called the Sainiks, who performed Saturday’s ceremony, excited party workers. “In childhood whenever I visited Red Fort from where prime ministers addressed the nation, I would gave speeches from there, but I could not become the PM.
So we should not feel bad about such enthusiastic people,” Fadnavis said.
Public works department minister Eknath Shinde, who is also Thane’s guardian minister, was the sole Sena leader present at the programme. Kal-Dombivli civic body mayor Rajendra Devlekar and Sena’s Kalyan MP Shreekant Shinde did not attend the function.
Fadnavis also promised a Metro corridor in Kalyan-Dombivli and Bhiwandi. “The
Maharashtra government will definitely bring the Metro to the townships. A detailed project is being prepared and a decision will soon be taken once formalities are completed,” said Fadnavis.
