Follow Swami Dayanand’s teachings: Guv

Governor Acharya Devvrat while addressing a select gathering on the occasion of the Regional Arya Conference organised by the Himachal Pradesh Arya Pratinidhi Sabha here said Swami Dayanand Saraswati presented Vedas in a scientific perspective so as to guide society towards realism.

He said the present was an era of science and there was no place for superstition and false notions. He said the country had rich history and tradition of saints and sages and the Arya Samaj had played a major role in the eradication of superstition from society.

He said society was transforming fast and the younger generation had got a little knowledge of our saints, great personalities and freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation. He urged the parents to inculcate high values and moral character in their children.

He said the country was progressing in all spheres, but still more efforts were needed. The state should be made an organic state with a clean and pollution-free environment and appealed to the youth to take active part in this noble cause.

Earlier, the Governor planted a sapling at the Arya Vir Dal Training Camp and presented keys of “Ved Prachar Vahan” to representatives of the Arya Sabha.

Himachal Pradesh Arya Pratinidhi Sabha chairman Prabodh Chandra welcomed the Governor.

Sohan Lal Thakur also welcomed the Governor on his arrival at Sundernagar.

Mandi Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam, Technical Education Director Rajeshwar Goyal and other prominent persons of the area were also present on the occasion.
