Wrestling champ gets rousing welcome

SONEPAT: Anshu Malik of Jind district’s Nidani village, a student of Pratap Senior Secondary School at Kharkhoda in Sonepat district, who had won the bronze medal at the six-day World Sub Junior Wrestling Championship was given a rousing welcome at the school today.

Anshu Malik of Jind district’s Nidani village, a student of Pratap Senior Secondary School at Kharkhoda in Sonepat district, who had won the bronze medal at the six-day World Sub Junior Wrestling Championship was given a rousing welcome at the school today.

The championship concluded at Georgia today. Anshu Malik had defeated Kazakhstan wrestler in 60 kg weight category.

She was welcomed by chief coach Om Prakash Dahiya, her father Dharambir Malik, school principal Dharam Prakash Arya and others. Dharambir Malik who had been an international wrestler, said Anshu had also bagged a silver medal at the Asian Sub Junior Wrestling Championship. —OC
