Unni Mukundan and Prakash Raj join Jayaram in Achayans

Unni Mukundan and Prakash Raj join Jayaram in Achayans
Director Kannan Thamarakkulam seems to be Jayaram’s favourite collaborator these days, having worked with him in the filmmaker’s horror-comedy 'Aadupuliyattam', recently.
The duo will now team up for an entertainer titled 'Achayans', which will also have Prakash Raj and Unni Mukundan in important roles. Kannan says, “Jayaram, Prakash Raj and Unni are members of a Christian family in the movie and all three have roles of equal importance.
We are also on the lookout for two more established actors from Malayalam to play other major characters.”
The director explains that the film, which is scripted by Sethu, will tell a youth-centric story. “It’s a fun thriller that will appeal to all kinds of audiences,” he adds. The movie will go on floors by October third week and will be shot in Fort Kochi, Wagamon, Theni and Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Jayaram is all excited about working with the cast. He had previously shared screen space with Prakash Raj in Tamil movies 'Saroja' and 'Paramasivan', and will be working with Unni for the upcoming Telugu movie 'Bhagmati'.
Kannan is known for pulling off a casting coup for Aadupuliyattam as well, which had actors from other industries like Om Puri, Remya Krishnan and Sampath in pivotal roles. So, will Achayans too be a multilingual? “The casting just happened to be that way. We have no plans as yet to be make it in any other language apart from Malayalam,” Jayaram says. “The script is simply hilarious. It’s a fun story that starts off in a naadan setting but goes to different places as the story progresses.”
