Opposition says ‘sold out’ Nepal interest on India visit

Oli added that Prachanda, by agreeing to have Indian embassy officials as part of the “oversight” joint team to monitor Indian projects with the government of Nepal, has equated the Indian embassy with the Nepal government. “We are not bound to accept these agreements as they are against the national interest and national sentiments,” he added.

After returning to Kathmandu following the four-day visit at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Prachanda had declared that the decision to work with India was in continuation of Nepal’s longstanding approach.
During Prachanda’s four-day visit to India, the two countries had signed a 25-point joint communique.
