Girl runs away from home, traced in Mumbai

PANAJI: A 14-year-old minor girl, allegedly kidnapped from Porvorim, was traced by Porvorim police within 24 hours from Prabhadevi in Mumbai, police claim.
On Saturday, the victim's mother filed a complaint before the Porvorim police station that her daughter was missing since early morning after she left for school at 7am. Based on the complaint, police registered a case of kidnapping.
During the course of investigation, police come across the message sent by the victim to her friend that she is feeling lonely and that she will run away from home.

Police said on Saturday that the girl travelled to Mumbai by bus. When she reached Mumbai, a nun, Sister Augustina Valladares of Yuvati Shravan, Prabhadevi saw her and found something suspicious in her behaviour. She later called the victim's mother, who narrated the incident to her. Later, the nun kept the girl with her till Mumbai police took her custody at the instruction of Porvorim police station.
