Bihar receives light to moderate rainfall

Gaya received 19 mm of rainfall till on Sunday evening while Patna received 6.0 mm. Purnea and Bhagalpur received no rainfall.

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at several places in south-western Bihar while heavy rainfall lashed a few places elsewhere, the MeT department said. While light to moderate rainfall was recorded from few places of north-east and south-central parts of the state, heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in north-west, south-west and south-central parts, the department said.

Gaya received 19 mm of rainfall till on Sunday evening while Patna received 6.0 mm. Purnea and Bhagalpur received no rainfall.

Purnea was the hottest place in the state recording the maximum temperature of 34.3 degree celsius while Patna recorded 33.9 degree celsius.

The maximum temperature at Gaya and Bhagalpur remained at identical 33.4 degree celsius, Met office said.

In its forecast for the next 24 hours for the state, the MeT department predicted Patna, Gaya and Bhagalpur will experience generally cloudy sky with light rain while Purnea may see generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain or thundershowers.

Purnea was the most humid place in the state with the city recording 94 per cent of humidity level.

The humidity level was 83 per cent each in Gaya and Bhagalpur while it was 81 per cent in Patna.
