News Wiz Episode 9: Springdales School Dhaula Kuan walks away with easy win

Episode 9 of the nation's first and biggest new quiz, the News Wiz, saw Springdales School Dhaula Kuan winning without any challenge from the schools from Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Springdales School Dhaula Kuan of New Delhi, The Heritage School of Kolkata and DPS Nacharam, Hyderabad, battled it out in this episode of the popular news quiz hosted by Rajdeep Sardesai on the India Today Television.

India Today Television Deputy Editor Shiv Aroor and former cricketer Nikhil Chopra were the special guests on the show.

In the first warm-up round, Springdales scored 400 points, while Heritage School and DPS Nacharam scored 300 points each.

After the second round based on top stories of the week, Springdales continued to lead with 750 points while Heritage School made up some lost grounds with 450 and DPS Nacharam drew a blank in this round.

Round three -- called Match Time -- saw Springdales amassing 1100 points, The Heritage School was distant second with 650 points and DPS Nacharam left far behind in the game with 400 points.

Even the fourth and final round, where one can win or lose 500 points, didn't throw any surprise as Springdales School Dhaula Kuan had an easy go. With 1200 points they won the show, securing a place in the next stage that begins next week.

The episode 9 was the last of preliminary rounds of the New Wiz and from next week it is set to get intense as the schools shortlisted after the preliminary rounds would test their mettle.

News Wiz is aired every Sunday at 11am, with repeat telecasts at 2 and 8 pm the same day and on Monday at 4 pm.
