In a colourful doodle, a girl looks defeated, she's crying but has wings... there's hope. A lamppost in the background throws a pale yellow light across the canvas on which the lyrics of Coldplay's chartbuster `Fix you' are scrawled. This is one of a set of 12 doodles created by artist and ardent Coldplay fan Kalyani Nerurkar.

Like thousands of fans of the British rock band in India, she too hopes to be present at the band's November concert in Mumbai.“More than that I just hope somehow my work reaches them,“ says Nerurkar who was introduced to the band when she was in Class VII by her elder sister.

Recounting how the project started, Nerurkar says she just started doodling while listening to Coldplay . “Their music and words are so heartfelt and soulful. And Chris Martin's voice is just magical.“ Her doodles are quite detailed and it takes her two to three days to finish one. “If I am familiar with the song then I already have a basic image in my head which I then flesh out on paper. But if it is a new song then I listen to it for a couple of days, allow it to grow on me and then illustrate it,“ says Nerurkar.
