BENGALURU: Theatre buffs can mark their calendars. The third edition of the Times of India Theatre Festival is here. And this year, enthusiasts can look forward to the works of renowned personalities like Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Kapur and Rajit Kapur.
The Times of India Theatre Festival is powered by TTK Prestige, in association with Pride and co-sponsored by Phoenix Market City, Bank of Baroda.
The festival is curated by Istage Entertainment P Ltd. The event is an initiative of Times Red Cell.
The festival kicks off on September 23 with Dopehri, set in the streets of Lucknow where stands the haveli of an old, lonely woman Amma Bi. Pankaj Kapur brings to us her story. The play is written, directed and performed by Pankaj Kapur.
September 24 will see A Walk In The Woods being staged. Two diplomats, in the middle of peace talks, take a walk in the woods trying to achieve a breakthrough in the muddled negotiations between their two countries. Will their attempt succeed where official channels have failed? What role do individuals play in the larger games that governments set in motion? Naseeruddin Shah and Rajit Kapur will perform.
The festival culminates on September 25 with Kuch Bhi Ho Saktha Hai - the journey of a man who should have been a failure but who manipulated his destiny to become successful. Anupam Kher plays the key role.
