Hearing put off in Akbaruddin Owaisi's case

A city court adjourned the hearing on the attack on MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to Tuesday.

Hyderabad: A city court adjourned the hearing on the attack on MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to Tuesday. On Saturday Akbaruddin and the accused appeared in the court of the Seventh Metropolitan Sessions Judge who is holding the trial. Earlier, the court had recorded the statement of Akbaruddin and he was also cross examined by the defence counsel.

During earlier cross examinations, the defence counsel had asked Akbaruddin about details of the weapons he had and how he practised firing at his farmhouse using his licensed 0.22 Beretta pistol a month before the attack on him. Akbaruddin admitted that he had been having the weapon since 20 years and had purchased 50 bullets in January 2010. He also said that he did not have any other weapon with him.
