This year’s Yuva Dasara, to be held from October 3 to 9, will feature artistes like Benny Dayal, Raghu Dixit and Shalmali Kholgade.

A concert by Coke Studio, Javed Ali and his team, besides a Sandalwood night featuring dance and music by stars from the Kannada film industry are also on the anvil.

But, authorities are trying to ensure that major events related to Dasara are not scaled down and have lined up heavyweight artistes to lure the crowd. The Yuva Dasara pogrammes will be held at the Maharaja’s College ground from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will include performances by winners of the Yuva Sambrahma programme to be held from September 23 to 28 at the Open Air Theatre of Mansagangotri campus.

The programmes will kick off with the Benny Dayal show on October 3 and the concert by Raghu Dixit and his team on October 4. Shalmali Kholgade will perform on October 5. The dance and music programme has been slated for October 6, while Javed Ali and his team will perform on October 7. The concert featuring artistes of Coke Studio will be held on October 8, while the Sandalwood night will be held on October 9. The inauguration and valedictory of the Yuva Dasara programmes will be conducted by stars from the Kannada tinsel world.

Yuva Sambrahma is a recent introduction to the festival and is an opportunity for college students to showcase their talent.
