Mumbai locals: 10 hour mega block at Diva railway station on Sunday

Due to the mega block, all Up and Dn train lines arriving and leaving from CST would be 15-20 mins late.

Mumbai, Sep 17: The local railway trains would not ply as usual at the Diva railway station. Central Railway would be carrying out extensive repair and maintenance work which would leave the station dysfunctional for a total of 10 hours. The mega block would begin in the morning at 8:30 AM and end in the evening at 6:30 PM. Commuters travelling to Diva, or boarding trains from the station are advised to use alternative modes of commutation. Central Railway has released a press release to update users about the changes in the train schedule and alteration of trains running through the route. The mega block will affect trains running from Kalyan to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).

The Dn slow locals will be switched on Dn fast line between Mulund and Kalyan halting at Thane, Diva (New platform) and Dombivali. However, the locals will not be available at Kalva, Mumbra, Kopar and Thakurli. As per the press release, the following locals would adopt the altered route on Sunday: “Asangaon local leaving Thane at 07.59 hrs, Kalyan Locals leaving Mulund at 08.02 hours, 08.14 hours, 09.02 hours, 09.22 hrs, 17.52 hours and 18.02 hours, Asangaon local leaving Mulund at 08.30 hrs, Titwala local leaving Mulund at 17.13 hours, Kasara local leaving Thane at 17.32 hours.”

The Dn slow locals from Mumbra leaving at 9:37 hours to 17:18 hours will be switched on the Dn fast line. The trains would ply between Diva and Kalyan and would also halt at Kopar and Thakurli. The trains will further stop at Diva (New platform) and Dombivali.

“Dn slow locals will not be available at Kopar and Thakurli during the entire block period. However passengers for these stations are permitted to travel via Kalyan/ Dombivli. Dn slow locals will not be available at Kalva and Mumbra stations from 08.00 hrs to 09.30 hrs and 17.30 hrs to 19.00 hrs. However passengers for these stations are permitted to travel via Diva/Thane station. Services at a frequency of 15 minutes will be available between 09.30 hrs to 17.15 hrs,” the press release stated.

Due to the mega block, all Up and Dn train lines arriving and leaving from CST would be 15-20 mins late. To compensate for the cancellation of some trains due to mega block, additional services run on CST – Thane/Kurla section.
