Hyderabad: Taking note of the delay in implementation of the Telanganaku Haritha Haram programme, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday instructed officials that any neglect of the programme will not be taken lightly.
Reviewing the progress of the tree plantation programme, the chief minister told the officials that proper steps must be taken to ensure survival of the saplings that have been planted so far.
Responding to information given by officials that 30 crore saplings have been planted so far against the target of 40 crore this year, he said officials should make use of idle fire engines and press water tankers into service to water the saplings.
He in addition warned officials that during his inspection tours of districts, he would pay attention to the tree plantation programme and study its implementation.
