ASHBURN — If the Washington Redskins even needed any added inspiration to bounce back from Monday night’s 38-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, they got it from WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Wilder, who won the title in January 2015 after beating Bermane Stiverne, visited practice on Friday at Redskins Park and spoke to the team ahead of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-foot-7 Wilder sports a 37-0 record with 36 knockouts. In a July victory, his fourth successful defense of the heavyweight title, Wilder broke his hand and tore his bicep but was able to finish with a win.

“He’s very confident, and that’s what we took from his speech out there,” defensive end Chris Baker said. “When you know you’re the best, just go out there with that swagger and know nobody can touch you and when they get down and dirty, you’ve got to dig deep and just have that feeling, ‘I’m the best and there’s nothing you can do about it.

“[We needed it] a little, but we’re professionals. We had a bad day and now it’s time to get that taste out of our mouth and get a victory against a division opponent and defend our home turf.”
