A spirited show of talent and confidence

The sporty, enthusiastic students of Garden City College put on an energetic show of talent for the auditions of Oppo Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2016, which was held at the college’s airy auditorium. For the first round of the auditions, the contestants not only got the crowd excited by delivering power-packed performances in various talents, but they managed to get the judge, DJ Jasmeet, on his feet too.
LOTS OF SONG AND DANCE: While a lot of boys — like Jason Taylor, Amit Thapa and Intikhab Ansari — flaunted their strumming and singing skills, the girls — Kabita Barakoti, Sonali Gautham and Ambika Chetri — danced their hearts out. There were also some very unique performances by Sushmitha SLL (RJing), Rishab (beatboxing) and Vikas (fire juggling).
WINNERS: Based on their performances and stage presence, the judge advanced 12 participants to the second and final round of the auditions. After putting forward tough questions and impromptu challenges to the contestants, Jasmeet adjudged dancer Anjana J and guitarist Abhijit Shankar the winners among the girls and boys respectively. Ujjwala Gurung’s fashion sense as well as her confident answers, and Prachi Bishwal’s slick moves ensured that they finished first and second runners-up respectively among girls. Among the boys, singer Soham Bhattacharjee, who sang his own composition, and Siddharth Das, with impressive animation dance moves, came as first and second runners-up respectively.
