Despite making his debut for Serie A side Torino last Sunday against Atalanta, goalkeeper Joe Hart was unveiled at his new club on Friday.

Prior to his loan move to Italy the England shotstopper spent ten years with Manchester City.

But he found himself surplus to requirements under new coach Pep Guardiola and was forced to look elsewhere for first team football.

He explained: “It was fairly obvious to everyone. He was open with me. There was a situation where it looked like my chances of playing time were limited so I had to look elsewhere. It’s a situation that happens in football. It’s a difficult one and you’ve got to be man enough to take it. Not everyone is going to love you, maybe that was the situation. I had to look elsewhere and I’m very grateful to be here.”

His first appearance with Torino didn’t quite go to plan last weekend.

Firstly the club called him John Hart on the teamsheet and then his blunder led to Atalanta’s equalizer in a game Torino lost 2-1.

He’ll be out to bounce back from his difficult debut though on Sunday against Empoli.
