Actors, Olympians to be feted at foundation day of Mangalore University

MANGALURU: Actors Vinaya Prasad and Devadas Kapikad, and Olympians Vandana Rao and Sahana Kumari will be felicitated for being distinguished achievers as part of the 37th Foundation Day celebration of Mangalore University on September 19. The event will be celebrated at the Mangala auditorium of the university on its Mangalagangothri Campus, K Byrappa, vice-chancellor stated.
Minister for higher education and Pro-Chancellor of the university Basavaraj Rayareddy will inaugurate the programme.Former Union minister and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Jairam Ramesh will deliver the Foundation Day lecture. B Ramanath Rai, minister for forest, environment and ecology and DK district in-charge and U T Khader, minister for food and civil supplies and consumer affairs will be guests of honour.
