GST will increase economic growth of country: Arjun Ram Meghwal

Basti, Sep 16 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said today after implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) economic growth rate of the country will increase besides it will control the inflation.
Mr Meghwal said GST act will get into force from April 1, 2017 and tax rates will become at par in all states. After enforcement of GST goods price may fall as the expense of transportation and maintenance of goods will be reduced.
He said a two-day meeting of GST committee will be held on September 22 in leadership of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely. Committee will provide its report on GST rates and other matters related to it.
Mr Meghwal said persons have different opinions about GST rate and for this a counseling is necessary. To establish infrastructure for same tax system across the country is a big challenge. Infosys is taking care of this. Central government will provide training programmes for 60,000 central and state government employees related to GST system to strengthen this network.
He said there are still some misconceptions regarding GST for that a workshop should be organised.
Talking about Eastern Uttar Pradesh Mr Meghwal said here society is still based on agriculture. Central government will provide special packages to promote investment in agriculture and agriculture products and this action of the government will improve the condition of the eastern UP.
Mr Meghwal said a drive is on to connect all families with the banks. Its responsibility of bank managers to connect all those who are still deprived of the bank services to the bank. Overall development will happen only when all families will connected to the banks and all facilities of governments will be directly transferred to the eligible persons in their bank account.
Mr Meghwal said representative of eastern UP banks has been instructed to facilitate all the beneficiaries with the development projects of the government.
