Four Suspects in Preparing Recent Attacks Detained in Turkey

Four people were detained in Turkey earlier in the day on suspicion of having links with the Daesh group, as well as preparing terrorist attacks against the German and UK diplomatic missions, local media reported on Friday.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to Turkey’s Haberturk broadcaster, the three suspected terrorists were detained in Ankara, and another one in Istanbul. Their links to Daesh, a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia and multiple other states, including Turkey, are being investigated.

According to the media, the four people are suspected of planning terrorist attacks against the two diplomatic missions that could have taken place on September 13-17.

The UK's Embassy in Ankara on Thursday announced that it would be closed on Friday due to security reasons. The German diplomatic mission in Turkey will also be closed until the end of the week.
