AHMEDABAD: Gujaratis have taken a liking for tennis as many players form Gujarat are doing well at the national level since quite a while now. Latest to join the bandwagon is Vadodara youngster
Aaryan Zaveri who became the latest tennis star from the state who reached number one spot in junior ranking.

Ankita Raina (women's singles) to lead the
All India Tennis Association (
AITA) rankings.
"It is a great feeling. I am feeling good," said an elated 14-year-old when Mirror caught up with him. "But it is just the beginning. I think my journey will become tougher now and I need to be prepared for the bigger challenges to come."
Attracted to the game while watching his sister
Isha play,
Aaryan got serious only after ending the under-12 as India no. 2. "After watching my elder sister playing, I too wanted to play. I liked the game. But I was not that much into it," Aaryan said. "It is only after I got the ranking (no.2 in under-12 category) that I started to give it a serious thought," he said, adding "I am happy with the way things have progressed so far but I have a long way to go."
Aaryan, who had twice represented India in international team events, has set his sights in the higher goals.
"In the long run, I want to win a Grand Slam as well as an Olympic gold. I also dream of representing India in
Davis Cup," he said.
