MALPPURAM: A special team of police headed by the crime branch DSP K C Babu began the probe into the death of an accused under police custody at Vandur police station.
The investigation officials have collected evidence and the statements of the relatives of Abdul Latheef (45) who was found hanging inside the latrine of the police station on Sunday. The relatives have already demanded a detailed probe into the incident.

The forensic experts have collected blood samples from the latrine of the police station where the body was found. The chairman of the police complaint authority justice K Narayanakurupp also visited the police station and the house of the deceased person at Vandur on Tuesday. After visiting the station he told the media that it was impossible for a normal person to put a noose on the hook of the latrine and he had also raised suspicion on the incident. He had added that a detailed probe would be conducted into the allegations of the relatives of Latheef that there were injuries across the body of Latheef.
Meanwhile the post-mortem report reveals that suffocation was the reason for death.
