Newly selected HCS officers gear up for challenges ahead

The state government today started the process of joining of 29 HCS (Executive) selected recently by the Haryana Public Service Commission.

The newly selected candidates were called to the secretariat today for the verification of their certificates.

“I wish to get posted at a place where I have to do a lot of public dealing. I feel I am good in communication and I want to use my ability for mitigation of people’s problems by talking to them,” said Shweta Suhag (24), HCS topper, while talking to The Tribune.

Daughter of a Haryana Roadways clerk, Rakesh Kumar, Shweta, a resident of Rohtak, has done graduation in zoology from Delhi University and a PG Diploma in Human Rights from the Indian Institute of Human Rights.

“To do everything I am allotted in the best possible manner and to make sure that I help people to the best of my abilities is my goal,” said Belina (25), who stood fourth in the exam.

Also from Rohtak is Belina, who did her BA in political science (honours) from Hindu College, Delhi University, and is purusing MA (political science).

Jatinder Kumar (37) from Dabwali of Sirsa, comes from a humble background. His father plied rickshaw before he made it to the HCS (Allied) in an earlier attempt and joined as assistant employment officer. He will now be joining the HCS (Executive).

“The government has given people like me a chance by following a completely transparent procedure. Now, it is up to us to perform our best,” said Jatinder.

Ashish Vashisht (36) from Jhajjar wants to work for improving sex ratio in the state.

Kanwar Singh (37) from Jind, Shashi Vasudeva (29) from Hisar and Shikha (30) from Rohtak are among 29 recruits who want to improve healthcare, education, sanitation and agriculture.

A senior functionary of the personnel department said after their joining, the candidates would undergo revenue training in the Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurgaon, and then training in the field for 12 weeks.
