Argument turns violent, man stabbed

CALANGUTE: One person was stabbed after an argument between companions turned violent at a restaurant in Baga around 5pm on Wednesday.
Calangute police said Kalpesh Salgaonkar from Colvale and Digambar Korgaonkar from Bastora, were having a drink when they suddenly, under the influence of alcohol, started fighting. Korgaonkar grabbed a knife and stabbed Kalpesh in the back, but was prevented from causing serious injuries after restaurant staff intervened.Kalpesh suffered simple injuries, and was discharged after treatment.
Korgaonkar fled from the spot and cannot be traced, police said, adding that a case has been registered under IPC Section 324. tnn
