CCN And Floating Life Join Efforts To Design The ‘Commander’ a 42.5 M

Carrara-basedCCN-CerriCantieriNavaliand Swiss headquartered Floating Life have recentlyjoined their large expertise in shipbuilding, yacht design and management to work on a brand-new42.50 m vessel.

This steel yacht, strengthened to fit the“Light Ice class” and featuring an aluminium superstructure, has  been  developed  starting  from  the  tested  hull  of  the  K40,  engineered  byStudio Sculli  andcurrently under construction in the Carrara shipyard.

Its outer lines too, have been pencilled by Studio Sculli and are extremely modern and aggressivealso  thanks  to  the  extensive  use  of  glazed  surfaces,  which  result  in  a  bold,  contemporary-styleyacht.“The  design  of  the  C415  –  explainsMauroSculli  –  is  what  I  would  call  ‘transversal’.  i.e.  a compromise between  different  types  of  yachts,  mainly  anexplorer and a traditional, modern craft, combined  with  the  wish  to  include  elements  that  would  immediately  and  clearly  reflect  CCN’sdistinctive style”.

The interior layout features several innovative solutions and has been conceived to offer guests theutmost  comfort  thanks  to  spacious  interior  and  exterior  volumes,  and  large  relaxation  andsunbathing areas.

The Owner has available an entire deck, featuring, besides the master suite, a private pool at thebow. A second infinity edge pool for guests can be found aft on the upper deck. The main decklayout  is  quite  original  too,  with  the  dining  room  located  forward  and  connected  to  an  outdoorlounge area.Conceived to meet a wide range of needs, this deck is extremely versatile:the aftarea is used to store a large 10 m tender and water toys, but can also be easily converted into apleasant conversation area.

There are also several areas devoted to well-being at the stern of the lower deck, the latter hosting4 cabins. A spacious beach-clubwith  a  bar and conversation  area complete the  ‘comfort  zone’reserved for guests on this deck.

The crew quarters and the galley are large and comfortable, making this yacht ideal also for long-range cruises.

The bottom deck, which extends uninterruptedly from stern to bow, features the technical areas, acold room, and the laundry.A side access ensures easy galley supplies loading operations.Great care has also been devoted to the yacht’s eco-friendliness, and a bi-fuel solution is currentlybeing explored.

The  Commander  415  will  be  powered  by  2  CAT  C32  ACERT  engines,  allowing  it  to  reach amaximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.  Perfect vesselfor long-distance cruising, the C415 can boast an impressive range of 5,400 miles at cruising speed.

“Our  success  with  the  M/Y  K40  encouraged  us  to  develop  this  new  project,  of  which  we  are  veryproud, in cooperation with Floating Life. This yacht stands out for a number of modern, innovativesolutions  –comments CCN’s CEO Diego Deprati –  and  I  am  confident  it  will  be  welcomed  by  themarket just as it deserves”.

Andrea Pezzini – Floating Life’s CEO – adds: “As for the K Series yachtwe are currently building,on   this   project   too   we   havebeen   focusingour   attentionon   system   efficiency   and   easymaintenance.  We  havedeployedall  our  management  expertise  into  the  main  characteristics  thatour  customers  have  been  asking  for  in  our  16-year  experience  in  this  sector.  Moreover,  we  havetried  to  make  this  project  extremely  versatile  and  able  to  cruise  in  any  and  all  sea  and  weatherconditions.  The  experience  we  gained  building  the  M/Y  K40  proved  that  weshare  with  CCNcommon  objectives,  great  care  for  product  quality,  and  the  same  ethics  and  working  philosophytowards our customers”
