MUMBAI: The chief minister said on Wednesday that he has not given an appointment to
comedian Kapil Sharma , who
levelled graft allegations against the BMC last week, but on Monday was booked for making
unauthorized alterations in a
Goregaon flat he owns. There was talk last week that
Sharma was to meet CM Devendra Fadnavis, along with his friend and actor
Vivek Oberoi to discuss corruption in the civic body.
The chief minister was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of an event at a
South Mumbai five-star hotel when, responding to a question, he said: “No appointment has been given to (Sharma) for a meeting.“
Last Friday, Sharma tweeted early in the morning, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office.“ He tagged the Prime Minister's Twitter handle.
A little while later, he ad dressed the PM directly in a tweet saying “Yeh hain aapke achhe din?“ The tweets prompted a quick response from Fadnavis, who tweeted, “Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC, BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit.“
