We have grown up watching comedy shows like Hum Paanch, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Khichdi etc, which can be easily classified as cult classics. This show is loosely inspired by the 90s' comedy series, Shrimaan Shrimati. The story revolves around two neighbouring couples, where the husbands devise plans to impress and woo each other's wives. The humour is clean, and the characters are relatable, ensuring a good dose of laughter.
2. Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma
This is one of the most-watched comedy shows on T.V, with a HUGE fan following. The plot is set in a residential society called Gokuldham Society, where people from different religions and communities live together (in harmony). Besides the brilliant script, we love the quirky characters and the day-to-day silly problems faced by the residents that make this show totally worthwhile.
3. The Kapil Sharma Show
Touted as the Comedy King, Kapil Sharma knows how to entertain the audience with his rib-tickling humour. Loosely inspired by The Kumar's At No 42 , the USP of this show is Kapil and his family that keep us in splits with their antics, when they interview celebrities (on the show) and connect them with the audience.
4. Chidiya Ghar
The show revolves around a close-knit joint family, where every family member faces a peculiar comic situation on a daily basis. The comedy is laced with a powerful message that life is not about being rigid and closed to experiences.
5. Comedy Nights Bachao
This show is all about being a little mean and wicked to the celebrity guests, and roasting them for their work. The show is one of the top comedy shows on television today and that's a good enough reason to not miss watching it.
