MAWSON ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF RAASAKKA AS DIRECTOR, CLARK RESIGNS
Mawson Resources Ltd. has appointed Noora Raasakka to Mawson's board of directors, effective immediately, and Gilbert Clark has resigned as director.
Ms. Raasakka has held the position of environmental leader for the company in Finland since November, 2014. As environmental leader, Ms. Raasakka has implemented the company's environmental policy in conjunction with senior management, with responsibility for identifying and managing key environmental risks associated with Mawson's projects.
Ms. Raasakka is a forestry engineer with a master's degree in landscape management from the University of Applied Sciences, Rovaniemi. Prior to joining Mawson, Ms. Raasakka held the position of project manager in the nature protection unit of The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Lapland (ELY-Centre) in Finland.
The company also announces the resignation of Mr. Clark as director of the company, effective immediately. Mr. Clark has served as a director of the company since January, 2014.
Michael Hudson, the company's president and chief executive officer, stated: "We are delighted to welcome Noora to the Mawson board. Noora's extensive experience in sustainable development and strong ecological background is an excellent complement to our board skill set. Her appointment reflects the continued requirement for our company to focus on environmental and CSR issues during our exploration activities.
