For this, everyone should just keep their backward mentality aside and yes, not call it feminism. Amitabh Bachchan has featured in a video which focusses on the perils of a woman in this society and why she must be set free. Before people go all "hey, so much feminism" and shiz like that, we think its best if everyone just put that unused side of their brain to work and see through the lines of how powerful the message from this video is. For eons now, women in the country have been bogged down by the prejudices of how she should be and what she should avoid. A woman with more qualification doesn't get the same remuneration or even an equal position at work to that of a man simply because women are perceived as weak. Not just how she looks but even how she dresses up, how she presents herself and how she is portrayed to the next generation is decided by the society. The mentality that women can't drive, they can't handle big positions, they aren't ambitious enough, their place is in the kitchen in a country that is progressing otherwise is disturbing. Even though we live harmoniously in a society where both men and women are equal competitors, somehow she is the one who has to make choices and compromises. The stereotyping that women need to marry after a certain age, and that she has to take the long way back home to avoid the ghastly eyes of molesters, that her ambitions have a shelf life just reflects on how backward our society is even with so many progressions. This video shared by Blush, sheds light to some of the most sensitive issues that modern women face but the minute they find their voice, are termed as feminists. Beautifully conceptualised, this video emphasises the compromises a girl or a woman as she walks through different paths of life. Throughout the video, we see that Big B is the one, giving his voice for all the girls as they speak of how they let go and dig a coffin for themselves under the weight of settling for the prejudice of the society. However, by the end of the video, finally, they get their voice as a lady says, "Usse bolne do" (Let her speak). The way this video ends leaves a lasting impact as every modern girl can relate to it and every man will feel slightly ashamed of how he has been treating women in his life. This video breaks the bubble that women are a certain way and that they are supposed to be a certain way.

Mr Bachchan's upcoming film, Pink, also sheds light to the perils of what a modern girl faces in this benighted society. Starring Tapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles, it is slated to release this Friday i.e. 16th September. The film is basically a courtroom drama that centers around how three modern girls escape a molestation in the capital of the country but fall prey to influential background of the boys.
